In answer to a post by David Hughey on Jan 17 2017. He said Nicholas’s father was Lewis Clifford, son of Alexander. According to the Post Mortem of Alexander Clifford, Lewis was age 41, so born about 1453, so he couldn’t have married Mildred Bourne about 1455.

CLIFFORD2] lists Alexander's birthdate as November 30, 1429 and a death year of 1494.

It also lists him as the grandfather of Nicholas, not the father. Nicholas's father was Lewis Clifford, son of Alexander. This Lewis Clifford was born about 1460 and he married Mildred Bourne about 1455.
