- Fulton County Democrats have re-established their edge in voter registration totals after county Republicans had held slight edges in the past three primary and general elections. According to voter registration figures for the upcoming May 19 primary, 2,791 Democrats, 2,591 Republicans and 118 other party affiliations or those with no party affiliations are registered to vote May 19. County Democrats had held a voter registration edge for 15 years when the Republicans managed a 19-voter edge for the November 1985 general election. That GOP advantage rose to 62 votes for last May�s primary and75 voters for last fall�s general election.
- Pennsylvania, USA State Police have announced that Sgt. Vincent W. Joyce, station commander at McConnellsburg, has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant and has been reassigned to interstate patrol commander for the southeast section for Harrisburg, York and Chambersburg stations. Sgt. Robert W. Phipps will replace Joyce as station commander at McConnellsburg.

- Betty was a homemaker, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.
- She is survived by her five children: Bernard (husband of Patti) Divens of Chambersburg, Mitchell Divens of Greencastle, Vickie (wife of Pete) Hickman of Maui, Hawaii, Samuel (husband of Sharon) Divens of Greencastle, and Dolly Carbaugh of Greencastle.
- She has eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
- She is also survived by a sister, Mary Johnston of McConnellsburg.
- In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
- Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 18, 2012 at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., Chambersburg, with Rev. William Kauffman officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be held at Knobsville Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be sent to Elmcroft of Shippensburg, 129 Walnut Bottom Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Ave, Chambersburg, PA will be handling the arrangements.
