Biography

John was born in 1787. John Cline ... He passed away in 1847. [1]

Valentine Cline, the father of John Cline, moved from Pennsylvania to Lincoln County, North Carolina, where he married Anna Gertrout Cansler, daughter of Philip W. Gentzler and Juliana Wintermyer, about 1780. Their children are established by the probate of the estate of Valentine Cline which was settled in 1808, and the will of Gertrude Cline in Lincoln County, North Carolina. Julianna is the 3rd listed of 10 children. [1]

Note: Nicholas Miller and Jacob Tommey were appointed Guardians of Philip Clineon 10 July 1805, with Seth Abernethy as Surety. Philip and Betsy moved to Indiana about 1830-1831, where their last two children where born.
