I grew up in the small town of Sikeston, in Southeast Missouri. I married my high school sweetheart, Tom Harmon, and we have a daughter, Tina, and a grandson Trey. Our son-in-law, Robert Havard, is like a son to us and they live in Clinton, Louisiana. Tom and I live about 18 miles south of Clinton in Zachary, Louisiana.
I was blessed with an unusual professional career from Secretary to a Rail Traffic Clerk, and then I supervised a private truck fleet at Ethyl Corporation. The last twelve years of my corporate life, I managed business travel, employee relocations, along with contract negotiations and administration, and event planning. I traveled to various company locations and met some of the most helpful and pleasant people in the world. I had the opportunity to visit Europe and Japan too. My fondest memories are of the personal relationships I enjoyed at Ethyl Corporation and the National Business Travel Association (now the Global Business Travel Association). The people were delightful, warm and enjoyable to work with over the years.
Since my retirement I have enjoyed researching my family genealogy, volunteering in my church and other community activities. In early 2010, I began taking oil painting lessons. It is now my passion! For me, art is liberating. Whether I work directly with a perceived subject, or abstractly, I am most concerned about the overall composition and formal aspects of the work. My color palette tends to be bright. Bright colors make me happy, and I hope to convey that to my viewers. My goal as a painter is to inspire and delight, not just reproduce a subject on canvas. I love my colors bold, and my art subjects are drawn with broad, generous form.
Both visual and musical art, to me, are liberating. There are many segments of creative arts, and each allows the individual to express their inner self to the world. My goal as a painter is to inspire and delight, not just reproduce a subject on canvas. I want my work to touch the inner impulse and passion of my viewers. My goal as a singer is to reach the soul of my listeners with my music; therefore, you could say art is about passion, creative expression, and communication of those feelings to others.
Memory and accumulated experiences make up the unconscious and influence my painting. I worked in the corporate world for over twenty-five years. Architecture, fine arts, as well as furniture, were my passions in college. My life was blessed with the ability to travel to many parts of the USA, Europe, and Japan. Each area of work and study has provided me with a unique perspective of the world, and travel has influenced my vision of the world.
Life is good! I enjoy my family, my church family, and art related guilds and painting daily. God has surely blessed me with a productive professional life and the happy life I enjoy today!

You'll definitely need to split your GEDCOM into much smaller segments and upload it in parts. What software do you use?
I gave you the Voting Badge for the Family History Photo of the Month. Thanks for joining us.
As far as the photos you mentioned go, you might want to create a free space page where you can post them all in one place?
How many individuals do you have in your GEDCOM?
In looking at your Cline ancestor, I think he might be part of the Tug River Clines. As far as I know, my line is not related to that one. I don't have a May Haley in my line, although she is a possible relative. Did you upload your DNA results to Gedmatch? Mine are on there although I must confess I have not had the time to really learn how to use that site. It's not as user friendly as FamilyTreeDNA. Of course, that Cline and Haley surnames could be a red herring and the common ancestor could lie elsewhere.
Just saw your note to me from last year. I am afraid I am not much help as I don't really understand this system either. I came over here after my paid subscription to ancestry expired because I was frustrated that I couldn't get free info and was hoping this system would be better. I just signed up and filled out some of the info I have from the other site. Maybe I am on the trusted list because I entered first? I added you to the trusted list. I don't know if that resolves your issue. If I can help you in any other way let me know.
I don't use WikiTree very much. I mostly use Ancestry and My Heritage. I'd love to work with you on the Haley/Cline connection. My Haleys are descended from James Rabun Haley of Franklin Co., GA and my Clines are from John Cline of Tom's Brook, Shenandoah Co. VA and Noble/Guernsey Co. OH. It is possible I am related to the Clines of NC (still trying to find a male Cline on my line for a Y DNA test). I am part of an active research group for the Haley and Rayburn families. You can email me directly at [email address removed] Did you test on familytreedna?
Cheers, Liz
Hang in there. It gets better!
