Research Notes

• Removed Barnabas Kline and Margaretha Unknown Kline as parents. Connection created by an Ancestry Family History Tree based on other Family History Trees. The History of Westmoreland County Page 242 records Peter's place of birth as Amsterdam, Nederlands whereas Barnabas is recorded as having been born in Pennsylvania. Until more direct proof is obtained these links should not be replaced.
• Regarding the differences in place of birth I tend to believe his birth was in Amsterdam. It seems the family history as recorded in William's biography was given by William to the author. Why would he say that unless he was told this. I believe he may be related to Barnabas Cline who arrived some years before Peter and could be a cousin or uncle who wrote home about how good this new land was. Strictly conjecture on my part. • Spelling variations,Cline vs. Kline, appear in earlier records simultaneously. Unsure if Kline is correct spelling or was a phonetic spelling by the recorder of the record. Cline is the spelling of last name on his grave marker. ^[3]
