Biography
Nancy Lynn Lloyd
Nancy Lynn Lloyd, 67, joined the Lord on Friday, February 24, 2012 after a heroic battle with cancer.
Nancy was the daughter of John Richard Cline and Thora B. Cline of Hagerstown, MD, both of whom preceded her in death, and she is survived by one sister, Janet Litten of Hagerstown, MD.
Nancy was the former Vice President of Workforce Development at Rappahannock Community College and held the same position at Lord Fairfax Community College, Middletown, VA previous to that. While working with Lear Corporation as a Total Quality Manager, she coached a team that was honored with Best Quality Improvement Award from USA Today, beating out all other nominees nationwide. She completed doctoral course work and held a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study from Virginia Tech and held a MA from James Madison University. Her career included teaching English at Clarke County High School, working with special education in the Winchester City Public School system, and later, working as an insurance manager for Horace Mann Insurance for the western half of Pennsylvania.
She and her husband, Brigadier General V. Wayne Lloyd, USAF, Ret, were avid sailors, and she had sailed extensively on the Chesapeake, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and Tahiti.
She is survived by her husband, daughter Kathrine Lloyd of Seattle, son and daughter-in-law Richard and Julia Lloyd, grandsons Marc and Nicholas Lloyd, granddaughter Elizabeth Lloyd; all of Richmond, Virginia.
Donations in her memory may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, Saluda, Virginia or the Caring Bridge.org website where her battle with cancer was documented and communicated to her many friends.
