Biography

William Ambrose was born on March 4, 1885^[1] in Middleton, Norfolk, Ontario, Canada, son of Peter Benjamin Cline, gardener, and Lenna Minerva Bullock.

In 1891, Peter B. and Lenna were living in the Town of Tilsonburg, Norfolk County North, Ontario^[2], with their children: Lillian, Mary, William, Charlton, and Alice, aged 10 months. Peter's mother, Deborah, was also living with the family.

In the 1901 Census, William appears to be enumerated as a Servant with Moffat family in Tillsonburg. He reported his birthdate as June 20, 1885^[3].

William married Alice Giffin in 1907^[4]. Their marriage record reads:

William Ambrose Cline, 22, residing in Hamilton, born in Tilsonburg, bachelor, moulder, son of Peter C. (Cline) and Lenna Bullock, married

Alice Griffin [sic], 18, residing in Hamilton, born in Smiths Falls, daughter of Wm. Geo. W. Griffin [sic] and Lydia Baldwin,

On July 11, 1907, in Hamilton, Ontario.

Together they had the following children:

In 1911, William Ambrose and Alice were living in Brandon, Manitoba^[5] with their two daughters, Lillian Lenna Frances and Lydia Alice.

In 1916, William and Alice were living in Brandon, Manitoba^[6], with their children: Lillian, Lydia, Eva, and Dorothy.

In 1921, William and Alice were living in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan^[7], with their children: Lillian, Liddie, Eva, Dorothy, Willie, and Teddy.

In 1926, William and Alice were living in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan^[8], with their children: William, Edgar, Earnest, Lillian, Lydia, Eva, Dorothy, and Viola.

In 1931, William and Alice were living in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan^[9], with their three sons: William, Edgar and Earnest; and four daughters: Lillian, Eva, Viola, and Lois.

William died in 1944. After his death, Alice moved back to Ontario.

He was buried at Bethany Cemetery, in Hazlet, Saskatchewan^[10]/
