Biography

Enoch was born about 1784. He was the son of Joel Clough and Dorothy Hutchins.

Enoch Cluff married Hannah Seavey on 12 November 1807 in Arundel, York County, in area that would eventually be part of Kennebunkport, in the State of Maine. Enoch and Hannah Seavey published their intention to marry on 24 October 1807 in Arundel where is appears they both were residing. ^{[1] [2] [3]}

In the 1850 census, enumerated on 20 Aug, Enoch, (age 65) was living in Kennebunkport, Maine, with his wife Hannah (age 62) and Charles O. Cluff (age 19). Enoch is a farmer and owns real estate. Charles is also a farmer, but has attened school in the past year. ^[4]

Enoch Clough passed away 28 Feb 1851 at the age of 67 years per Find a Grave. He is mentioned on a memorial in Enoch Clough Cemetery, Kennebunkport, Maine. Currently this plot is known to have only two burials, Enoch's and his wife's. ^{[5] [6]}

• Enoch's last name appears to have evolved over time or frequently been incorrectly transcribed. The name is spelled Cluff on their marriage records and the 1850 Census. However, his memorial stone is engraved Clough. ^{[1] [2] [4]}
