Biography

Michael Clyde followed his older brother Daniel to America and settled in Pennsylvania, though his intention was to join Daniel at Londonderry; but, landing farther South, and the facilities for traveling being poor and the distance considerable, he relinquished the plan and settled in one of the Scotch settlements of Pennsylvania. Communication was kept up between the families for a time.

Michael settled in East Allen, Penn. He was born 1710 and died May 7, 1794, in his 84th year. His wife was Bridget, who died December 15, 1786, in her 66th year. Children of Michael: Ann and Mary who married and died before Nov. 15, 1785; John, who died 1826, in 81st year; James who died in 1827; Margaret, Lettice, and Elizabeth.

The children of Micheal's son John: Sarah, Margaret, Mary, Elisabeth, and James. James married Hannah Horner and he died in 1866 in his 84th year. James and Hannah had a son Joseph who was born April 4, 1806 and lived in Washington, Washington Co. Ia. His son, Rev. John C Clyde, preacher and author, resided in Bloomsbury, New Jersey.

Michael was a Revolutionary War veteran.

Clyde-244 and Clyde-145 appear to represent the same person because: I imported him into wikitree. Had his birth incorrect (1790), and fixed it. He iIs the same person as Clyde-145. Please merge.
