Nathaniel Cobb was born on September 6, 1787 in Westmoreland, Cheshire, New Hampshire, son of Samuel Cobb (1753–1839) and Silence Barney (1756–1840).^[1]

Nathaniel married Sarah T Day (born on March 2, 1792 in Monkton, Addison, Vermont, United States) in 1809.^[2] Their son was Harvey Churchill Cobb (1819–1909).

Nathaniel enlisted in the army on 1 December 1812 and was discharged on 16 March 1813. He was a private in Hiram Mason's company of the Vermont Military. ^[2][3]

Nathaniel died on April 22, 1871 in Oswegatchie, St. Lawrence County, New York, United States, aged 83. He was buried in Bayside Cemetery, Potsdam.^[4]
