Biography

Private Nathaniel Cobb served in the Vermont Military in the War of 1812

Nathaniel Cobb was born on September 6, 1787 in Westmoreland, Cheshire, New Hampshire, son of Samuel Cobb (1753–1839) and Silence Barney (1756–1840).[1]

Nathaniel married Sarah T Day (born on March 2, 1792 in Monkton, Addison, Vermont, United States) in 1809.[2] Their son was Harvey Churchill Cobb (1819–1909).

Nathaniel enlisted in the army on 1 December 1812 and was discharged on 16 March 1813. He was a private in Hiram Mason's company of the Vermont Military. [2][3]

Nathaniel died on April 22, 1871 in Oswegatchie, St. Lawrence County, New York, United States, aged 83. He was buried in Bayside Cemetery, Potsdam.[4]
