Biography

Rachel Soule was the daughter of John Soule and his first wife, Rebecca (Simmons) Soule, who lived in Duxbury, Massachusetts, at the time of Rachel's birth about 1663. The date is based on the fact she was age 64 at her death in 1727.[1] Rachel received from her father's estate 6 Mar 1707/8, £6 8s 4d in the form of £2 11s 8d received from brother in law Adam Wright, 16s 8d from her sister Rebecca and the lot of Cedar Swamp in the six & twenty mens purchase valued at £3."[2]Her father, John Soule, gave land to his sons, during his lifetime, but gave daughter Sarah one cow and nothing to his other daughters. The court distributed his small remaining estate among his daughters or their heirs. The settlement was signed 6 Mar 1707/8 by Adam Wright on behalf of his children by his wife Sarah, deceased; Rebecka Weston; and John and Rachel Cobb.[3]

Rachel Soule married John Cobb (1662-1727) in Plymouth, Massachusetts, Sept 1688.[1] The marriage was recorded 7 Sept. in Plymouth,[4] and 5 Sept. in Middleborough.[5]John Cobb's will dated 29 May 1727, mentions his wife Rachel, leaving her amply provided, but a codicil dated 28 Sept 1727 notes her death.[1][6]

Rachel Cobb, died in Middleborough, Massachusetts, 18 Sept 1727 in her 65th year.[1] She was buried on "the Green" in Middleborough with her husband.[1][7][8]

Cobb-3579 and Soule-63 appear to represent the same person because: LNAB (Soule) is given as the middle name for Cobb-3579.

Soule-766 and Soule-63 appear to represent the same person because: I think Soule-766 is a case of mistaken identity. It looks as though she should be Rachel (1663-1727) Please read bio on Soule-766 for explanation.
