- George was born in 1791, the son of William Cobb, Sr. and Charlotte Coffin. William, Sr. was a United States Senator.
- George married Susan Wyer, daughter of Edward Wyer and Mary Chase. Children:

- George married second, Nancy Coffin, daughter of Christopher Coffin and Nancy Bridger in Nov. of 1861.
- George Cobb was Clerk of the Judicial Courts 1836-1872, Town and County Treasurer, and Register of Probate.
- He passed away in 1874.
