This is not the son of Augustine Cobb and Bethia Harvey, born December 29, 1673, died July 30, 1755, but his first cousin once removed, also named Morgan, son of John. They are respectively the great-grandson and grandson of Morgan Cobb.
This one is typically called "Capt. Morgan Cobb" or "Morgan Cobb Jr." as he was both younger, and of higher military rank.

Morgan Cobb, born 1680 in Taunton, Bristol, MA; Married Sarah Harvey.[1]
In 1726, on the death of his brother Samuel Cobb, became the guardian of his 9-year-old nephew, Richard Cobb, whom he apprenticed to a blacksmith.[2]
