Dewey's U.S., Chicago and North Western Railroad Employment Record from 16 May 1930. His hire date lists as Mar 1918 [6]

Dewey and Lola received their marriage license on 5 Nov 1919. At the time Dewey's address was listed as in Normandy, Buren, Illinois. The marriage license was issued in Brinkley, Monroe, Arkansas. Here his name is listed DM. [7]

Dewey's World I registration card that lists his father as Lee Cobb. Here his name is listed as MEREL. There is much debate on how to spell Dewey's given name. I use the spelling MERRILL in keeping with a cousin's spelling. [8]
