Biography
James Cockayne was born in Leicestershire, England.
James was the son of Thomas Cockayne and Elizabeth Boanam He was baptised at Theddingworth, Leicestershire on 14 November 1824.[1]
In 1861, James was living in Redwell Road, Milton Ernest, Bedfordshire. He was 58 years old and married to Harriett. His occupation was given as a Whipper-In (a huntsman's assistant who brings straying hounds back into the pack). [2]
in 1881, James was living in Dalston, Cumberland with Harriett and he was 52 years old. He was employed as a kennelman. [3]
In 1891, James was living in Dalston, Carlisle, Cumberland and is married. He was 64 years old and employed as a Huntsman.[4]
