Biography

Sarah Cockerham was born in 1808, in Franklin County, Georgia.[1] She was the daughter of Samuel Cockerham and Edith Smith.

She married Ezekiel Thomas on April 17, 1828, in Franklin County, Georgia.[2] They had 9 Known children.

She married William Stewart on November 27, 1843, in Monroe County, Mississippi.[3] They had 3 children.

Sarah and William made their home in Monroeton, Monroe County, Mississippi Territory in 1850, where William was a Farmer, and she was taking care of the home and his and their children, (His) Levicy -16, and Sarah-14, (Theirs) "Dillah"-6, Artiller-4, and James-2.[4]

She died on August 1, 1866, at the age of 57, in Monroe County, Mississippi, and was buried in the Sardis Cemetery in Hamilton, Monroe County, Mississippi.[1]
