Jeremiah Cockrill was born circa 1733, a son of Thomas Cockerill and Elizabeth Raney. He married first Martha Linton and they became the parents of Thomas, Catherine, Martha "Patty," Spencer, Samuel, William, Nancy, Hannah, Ann & Jane. After Martha died he married Katey Lewis.
Loudoun County, Virginia was established in 1757 from Fairfax County.
Jeremiah was a resident of Loudoun county, during the American Revolutionary War, and furnished material aid to the Continental Army. The Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution honor Jeremiah for his Patriotic Service, as DAR Ancestor #: A023657. Application for membership in the Society have been made by the descendants of Thomas Cockrill (aka Cockerill) who married Amelia "Million/Millie" Lucas. [1] According to DAR records, Jeremiah passed away prior to March 14, 1808, in Fairfax county, Virginia. [2]
