Capt. David Coe was born 18 February 1715-16 in Durham, Conn. He was the son of Joseph Coe and Abigail Robinson. David settled in Middletown, Conn. around 1740 where he farmed and engaged in public affairs. in 1759 he was commissioned lieutenant of the 16th company of the 6th reg. of the Conn. Militia and was promoted to captain in May 1764[1] He was married to Hannah Camp in 1740. David died 14 January 1807 and is buried in Middlefield, Conn.

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with David by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.

I thought I had identified Mary (Coe) Hart (abt.1750-abt.1787)'s parents as this David & Hannah based on information in the DAR Lineage book v 21 until I looked at the Coe genealogy referenced here. I would tend to trust the DAR but...
