DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Joseph Adriaan by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Joseph Adriaan:
Coetzee-1350 and Coesee-3 appear to represent the same person because: Duplicates. Coesee-3 has the more correct spelling as can be read on the primary record.
Deleted the following link that leads nowhere and not identified by whom published it. It might relate to the Family tree that I moved down to Research Notes
Strictly speaking were not meant to delete any info that someone else added to a profile, but I take your point that the link you removed was not serving any obvious purpose & doesn't work.
As for the other info under the Research Notes, I would guess it was added by Ian McArthur and is an extract from a publication he listed as a source. It should not be deleted, but should be left under the Research Notes with a reference to him.
With regards to your Research Note, can you please add the date to it and correct the </ref> issue (missing a <ref> at the start).
Thanks Andre, fixed the missing <ref>. Philip helped with the other issues, which I do appreciate. I am learning a lot, and apologize if I am not always following the right way. Three weeks ago I did not even know what LNAB stands for!
Thanks for asking. I put the link in [brackets with 'link not working'] - this shortens the unsightly url. It was part of the original creation of this profile and as André states, we do not remove data of others, unless there is reason to do so. And before we create narrative, we always collate data (on communal profiles with multiple data input). Already narrated data prior to import / input, we collate as integrally as possible. (In this regard Ian's contribution of South African Genealogies 1 I usually 'park' under the heading 'Family' as it gives an better overview). See: South African Roots/Help ... always upload a source and transcribe the core facts and Process.
