It is not the person requesting a merge to criticize the manager of it or to tell them how things should be listed. I have been researching the Coffey family for 16 years and I to have a lot of information. You deal with the ones you take care of and I will take care of mine and add what ever records and merges that need to be done.
WikiTree is a cooperative effort. Although various individuals do act as project managers the profiles are open to anyone to add and correct unless it is part of a recognized research project and is Project Protected. Only Project Members can edit those. All changes are recorded in the changes log and if an error occurs the incorrect addition can be removed and the profile restored to it's earlier information. Additionally, if the profiles being merged have several points of commonality but if there are one or two discrepencies it is virtually always due to a conflation with bits of information erroneously swapped. In this case the profiles should be set as an "Unmerged Profile" for future correction and not just rejected out of hand. WikiTree is not just a place for you to store your work where no one will touch it.
Coffey-4195 and Coffey-1233 are not ready to be merged because: Merge should not have been rejected if person rejecting it says they will look into it. It should be set as an unmerged match. I have corrected many of the unsourced profilesinvolved and have found several conflations and wives who were erroneously said to be married. I have added sources for many of them. The person rejecting this should look at all of that before rejecting things out of hand.
