Henry was born in 1844. He was the son of Henry B Coffey and Sarah Isbell. He married Martha Phillips. He passed away after 1900.
Henry served in the 9th Missouri Cavalry during the Civil War, from May 1862-May 1865. Upon discharge, it was noted that he had "blood poisoning." He was hospitalized at a Disabled Veteran's Home in Dayton, Ohio, in 1893. The record states that he was widowed. In 1894, he was transferred to a Veteran's Home in Leavenworth, Kansas. That record also records marital status as widowed. Henry is enumerated on the 1900 US Census in Harrison Township, Moniteau County, Missouri, with a marital status of widowed. There is also a Henry T. Coffee enumerated on the 1910 US Census in Haw Creek, Morgan County, Missouri, with a marital status of widowed. Don't know if the 1900 and 1910 Census records refer to the same person.
Interestingly, his wife, Martha Phillips Coffey/Coffee, was enumerated in the 1900 US Census in Saline Township, Miller County, Missouri, with a marital status of widowed.
