Biography

John Coffey, Jr. was born about 1733. He is the son of John Coffey and Jane Jean Graves. [1]

"The third child of John and Jane Coffey was probably John, born about 1733 in Essex county. [Colonial Virginia] He is reported to have had 2 wives, (1) Dorcas Carter and (2) Nancy Richardson... [2]

Researchers Notes

"Meredith Coffey was born about 1769, died in 1838, in Grainger County, Tennessee. He married Ester (Hester) ______ about 1797. He is assumed to be the son of of John Coffey, whose first wife was Dorcas Carter and his second wife was Nancy Richardson. John Coffey is the son of John Coffey and Jane Graves. [3]

On 08 May 1760 John Coffey, Jr. purchased 90 acres of land on Ivy Creek In Albemarle County, Virginia.

John Coffey made his last Will in March 1774 in Albemarle County, Virginia.

He died after 1810 in Grainger County, Tennessee, USA.
