Looking at Census data from 1850-1860-1870 was very confusing regarding the Baldwin/Lamar children. As best as I can figure out, there were several deaths (children & spouses) & remarriages, making it hard to follow, but here's what I concluded:
Samuel Lamar & Judith (Baldwin) - Married 1842
Samuel Lamar of Blue River, Indiana (1819-1869) married Judith (*Baldwin) abt 1842 and by the 1850 census they had 4 children (Nathan-7, Luther-5, Jesse-3, Osborn-1) and a brother Miles was born in 1852. Judith must have died during or soon after Miles' birth because Samuel Lamar married Eunice Coffin in 1853.
*I do not know if Judith Baldwin is realated to Andrew Baldwin listed below
Samuel Lamar & Eunice (Coffin) - Married 1853
Samuel Lamar must have died prior to the 1860 Census because Samuel is not listed. Eunice (Coffin) Lamar is the head of household with step-sons Nathan-16, Luther-15, Jesse-13, Osborn-11, Miles-8 and Eunice/Samuel's son William-3 (born abt 1857). Their daughter Mary was born abt 1861 and was likely born after her father Samuel Lamar had died.
Eunice (Coffin) Lamar & Andrew Baldwin - Married October 30, 1862
The 1870 Census shows that Eunice and Andrew are living in Henry, Indiana with children: William Lamar-13, **Esther E. Baldwin-12, Mary Lamar 9, and 2 new children Martha Baldwin-4 and Alvin Coffin-2 **Note Ester E. Baldwin was a child from Andrew Baldwin's first marriage to Rhoda Howell (details next)
Andrew Baldwin & Rhoda (Howell)
The 1850 & 1860 Census shows Andrew and Rhoda had 6 children: Anna (1839), Mary F.(1841), Charles (1843), Lydia (1847), Lewis (1849), Esther (1858)
