Biography

William, son of David Coffman of Lick Creek, TN, is named in his father's will and was deceased when the will was made in 1844. [1]

It seems likely that the marriage record for William Coffman and Sally White on 21 May 1805 is his. [2]

William Coffman held land on Bent Creek, Jefferson, TN, in 1813.[3]

Research Notes

An unsourced Findagrave record records that William was born in 1782 in Jefferson County, TN, and died on 12 Jul 1829 in Clay County, IN.[4] This is presumably William Coffman who took up land in Clay County in 1828. [5] It's not immediately clear what the evidence is to identify him as the child born in Jefferson, TN in 1782.
