Apploina W. Coffman married 11 July 1865 to Jasper Riley Pitzer son of Price Pitzer and Frances "Fanny" Poling. Appolina and Jasper had nine children: George Riley Pitzer (1866-1942), Minnie Pitzer (1869-1930), Catherine "Kate" C. Pitzer (1867-1956), Mary Elizabeth Pitzer (1871-1936), Fannie Jane Pitzer (1873-1943), Charles C. Pitzer (1875-1949), Chase Pitzer (1877-1895), Albert M. Pitzer (1880-1880), John Alby Pitzer (1880-1960).
