Daniel Coit was born 25 Oct 1698 in New London, New London, CT to William and Sarah Chandler Coit. He is listed in Gurdon Saltonstalls baptismal records. He first married Lydia Christophers in 1721and they had one daughter Sarah who lived to the age of four. He then married Mehitable Hooker in 1741 and they had several children who lived to adulthood, including a daughter also named Sarah. After Mehitable's death, in 1764 he married the widow Elizabeth Starr, no issue found for that marriage. He died 1773 in New London.
