Blair family histories name James Blair's wife as Mary Colbert, but documentation is lacking[1].
I have no documentation for their marriage being in 1726 in North Carolina, or even solid information that James Blair's wife was named Mary Colbert. If anyone has proof, please post a note here! 1726 is a reasonable date for a marriage based on the birth dates of their children, but it seems unlikely to me that they were in North Carolina that early. What little documentation we have suggests that James was living in Virginia by about 1730. I have therefore changed "certain" to "uncertain" for these statements.
May 1, 2014: John Beeson added "Eosentrice" as her middle name, and marked it as "certain". Our cousin Gene Blair suggested to me several years ago that this is a misreading of the words "wife Mary executrix" in the will of James Blair, rather than a middle name. I have therefore changed the indication here to "uncertain".
See her husband James Blair [Blair-842] for further notes. I think the will cited here is that of James Blair who died in in 1776 in Guilford Co. NC, and that he was a younger man than the father of Colbert Blair.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:
Colbert-577 and Colbert-96 appear to represent the same person because: Clearly the same person, but please see my note on Colbert-96 about why I think Mary did NOT have the middle name Eosentrice.
I have removed "Eosentrice" as a middle name, because it triggered an error message for this profile. Please see the notes for why I think it is incorrect.
