Oliva died on June 20, 1830, in Nova Scotia, Canada, at the age of 43 and was buried in Simpson Bridge Cemetery, with her husband Daniel and his second wife (her cousin) Mary Caldwell. The gravestone reads:[3]
is inscribed:
"Daniel Bishop / Died July 29 ,1864 / Aged 76 years / Also his wife / Oliva / died June 20, 1830 / Aged 42 years / also his wife / Mary / Died Mar, 4, 1865 / aged 84 years."[3]
