ELIAS COLDWELL NOTED DEALER IN HORSES, DIES Elias F. Coldwell, 98 of 27 Hall Avenue, Somerville, Deacon Emeritus of The First Baptist Church of Boston, died yesterday at Somerville Hospital. Born in Nova Scotia, he lived in Greater Boston since his youth. He was a well-known horse dealer for more than 50 years, operating stables at the site oif the present Court House and later on Cardon Street. He once offered the late »Horace Nelson of Waterville, Me., $100,000. for the world famous stallion, Nelson, a dtupendous sum in those days. The oldest living Master Mason in Massachusetts, Mr Coldwell was a member of Joseph Warren Lodge, A.F. & A. M; St. Paul`s Chapter, Boston Coucil; Select and Illustrious Masters, and the Boston Commandery, Knights Templar. He leaves two sons, former Rep. Emerson J. Coldwell of Brookline, and Lawrence E. Coldwell of Somerville; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Kennedy of Worchester, four grandchildren and a great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home, 28 College Avenue, Somerville, Friday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Harry H. Kruener of the First Baptist Church of Boston will officiate. Masonic services will be conducted at the Joseph Warren Lodge, A.F. & A.M., Boston. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetary, West Medford.
