Orin Barker Coldwell was born 28 Nov 1875 in Salem, Marion County, Oregon, USA and died 31 Jan 1964 (aged 88) in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon, USA. He is buried at River View Cemetery, Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon, USA.
O. B. Coldwell Dies At 88. O. B. Coldwell, 88, a former vice president of Portland General Electric Co., died Friday in a local nursing home. Funeral arrangements are in charge of J. P. Finley & Son.
Mr. Coldwell retired in 1940 after 53 years with PGE. He started as an office boy in 1892 and, with a few interruptions, worked his way up through most operating jobs in the firm to vice president of engineering by 1916. He held that position for 24 years, during which time he supervised construction of three hydroelectric plants on the Clackamas River and a steam generating plant in Portland. He was a consultant for PGE several years after retirements.
Mr. Coldwell was born Nov. 28, 1875, in Salem and moved to Portland as a child. He lived at 1514 SW Spring St. He was a member of the Arlington Club, Multnomah Athletic Club, University Club, Mr. Tabor No. 42, AF&AM, Al Kadar Shrine, and Rotary. He was past president of Portland Rose Festival Association.
He is survived by one son, William, St. Helens, and two daughters, Ruth Coldwell and Mrs. Frank Caskey, Portland. [The Oregonian, 1 Feb 1964, p11]
