Biography

Newton "Colwell" and Phoebe M. "Caldwell" were married on 3 June 1856 at Gaspereaux, Kings, Nova Scotia, Canada.[1] Based on census and other records, they had at least the following children:

  • Frederick Havelock Coldwell, b. 1858; d. 30 Jan 1931 Falmouth, Hants, Nova Scotia[2]
  • Anna Coldwell, b. ca. 1861
  • Ernest Coldwell, b. ca. 1864
  • Sophia Coldwell, b. ca. 1865
  • Minnie Laura Colwell, b. 03 Oct 1868 Gaspereaux, Kings, Nova Scotia[3]
  • Eva Maude Coldwell, b. 20 March 1872 Upper Gaspereaux, Kings, NS[4]
  • Justin Coldwell, b. ca. 1879

In 1871, Newton Coldwell, a farmer, lived in Gaspereau b, King's 189, Nova Scotia, with his wife Phebe and 5 children.[5]

In 1881, Newton Coldwell, a farmer, lived with this wife Pheby and 6 children. [6]

In 1891, Newton Coldwell, his wife Pheby and son Justin lived in Grand Pré, Kings, Nova Scotia, Canada. Newton was a farmer.[7]
