William Robert Cole was born July 08, 1876 in Anderson, Tennessee, USA to William Clay Cole and Susanah Catherine (Duncan) Cole. Both of his parents were born in Tennessee.[1]
In 1880, William age 3 was the 2nd youngest of five children living in the household of his parents in Anderson, Tennessee.[1]
March 29, 1899, William married Martha Jane Carden in Anderson, Tennessee.[2]
In the 1910 census, Robert age 34 (he is going by his middle name now) is listed as head of household with his wife and their six children. Their home is in Anderson, Tennessee. His occupation is listed as Farmer.[3]
In 1914 Robert is registered for WWI. His draft card lists his description as blue eyed with black hair.[4]
Year 1920, Robert age 43 is head of household with his wife and their eight children still living in Anderson, Tennessee. He owns his home and farm.[5]
Year 1930, Robert age 53 is living with his wife in the same location. Four of their nine children are listed living in their home.[6]
In 1940, William R. age 63 is listed as widowed. He lost his wife Martha in 1931. Two of his children are living with him as well as his grandson. Still living in Anderson, Tennessee.[7]
William Robert age 78 passed away Aug. 21, 1954 in Oak Ridge, Anderson, Tennessee.[8] He and his wife Martha are buried next to each other at Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Norris, Anderson, Tennessee.[9]
