Barnet made application in April of 1835 and received his certificate from the State of Maine land office for two hundred acres of land on August 14, 1835. In December of 1835 he wrote to land agent John Hodgson Esq. asking him to make petition for the land he was entitled to and he would be glad to have that selection made in the Indian Purchase. Research Notes

I just realized something is wrong here. I need to sort out who is who. I think the DAR record for this Bernard/ Barnet lists the wrong spouse . The children and Susannah, it appears, are not the spouse and children of this Bernard but are the spouse and children of Bernard died before April 4, 1814. Further research is needed. (There were two different individuals named Barnet Cole, one from New Hampshire and one from Pennsylvania. This biography has mixed information from both individuals and needs to be sorted out.)

My wife Susanna, Grandson David McClain, Sons Tunis, William and Barnet. Daughters Anna Crow, Susanna Cole, Rebecca and Keziah Jones, Jemima Crow, Nancy Hutchinson and Sara Cole. (These are the children of the Barnet Cole from Washington, Pennsylvania, not the children of Barnet Cole of Grafton, N.H.)

Although the source is cited as "Probate Record" I haven't found a record of the will being proven. So this probably is Barnet Cole who died in 1836 but had written his will earlier in Washington County, Pennsylvania possibly because he had fallen gravely ill and thought he may die. Still researching. (He was never in Washington County, Pennsylvania, and this is not his will, and these are not his children. This person is well documented in FamilySearch after years of research and changes need to be made to this profile.)

(This is an incorrect record for Barnet Cole, who was born in Sutton, Massachusetts. This record belongs on the Barnet Cole who was from Pennsylvania. Facts from two different individuals named Barnet Cole are mixed up in this profile. There were two distinct families, one from Washington, Pennsylvania and one from Grafton, Stark, New Hampshire. The will and probate information is for the Barnet Cole from Washington, Pennsylvania and not for the one from Stark, New Hampshire. T

The Barnet Cole that died in Maine, was the one from Stark, New Hampshire; and his son, Barnet Cole, Jr. moved to Utah with the Mormon pioneers.

Cole-7883 and Cole-1613 appear to represent the same person because: Overall clear duplicate; there is confusion regarding the first name - Barnet or Bernard (most likely Barnet as his son is a Jr)
