Berry died before 1860 as Elmira is head of house in the 1860 Census: Elmira Massy 45 Birth 1815 North Carolina; Eleander Massy 16. Amanda Massy 14.

Research Notes
Many family lines have shown Elmira's death around 1900; however, I did not find her in any Census Records after 1860. I believe she died between 1860 & 1870. (A user tree in genealogy.com shows her death after 1870.)
