WILLIAM BIBB COLE, born in Louisa Co., VA., May 2, 1768, was the son of William Cole (1744-1795) and his wife, Eleanor Bibb (d. 1832). Eleanor Bibb was the daughter of Benjamin and Ann Bibb, of Louisa Co., VA.
William Bibb Cole married in Louisa Co., Va., Jan. 15, 1789, Sarah Byars, (1763-1810), who was the daughter of John Byers, (1734-1781) and his wife, Elizabeth Thomson (1735-1810).
Near the close pf the century, William B. Cole, with others of his kin, migrated from Louisa Co., VA, to Clarke County, GA., where they lived for a number of years. Here several of his children were married. In 1819, he removed to the newly admitted State of Alabama, settling in Fayette Co., then a part of Tuscaloosa County. He died July 9, 1857, and is buried in little cemetery near Berry, Fayette Co., Ala. He was a farmer, and an outstanding member of the Methodist Church of his community.
