Biography
John Cole was born in 1834 in Athol Township, Prince Edward County, Ontario, son of Herman Cole (1805-1888) and Rachel Blakley (b ~1814). In 1859 he married Amelia Bogart. They lived in Athol Township. They had a daughter. Amelia died in 1865. John married Lydia C. Roblin in 1866 in Prince Edward County. They had three children. John died in 1873. Lydia died in 1899 and was buried with John in Cherry Valley United Church Cemetery.
Footnote
John's brother David Cole married Amelia's niece Emma Roblin in 1876.
Athol is located in same area as Picton, Ontario as mentioned on the FAG memorial.
