It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Ruth by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
I have just recently started working on an ancestor, Rebecca Coale, married to Nathan Hawkins and found they are considered to be the parents of Ruth Hawkins married to Davy Crockett's father.
I see there seems to be some confusion about who Davy's father is, without sources provided for John Wesley Crockett being married to a Ruth Hawkins. He is from an entirely different Crockett family, and it may be that he is married to a Rebecca Sullivan (Crockett by marriage to him). There does not appear to be a source for any of the biographical data assigned to him.
Rebecca Hawkins and Rebecca Sullivan https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Hawkins-487 may also be two different people. Where is the source saying Rebecca Hawkins is Rebecca "Sullivan" Hawkins.
I have doubts that this Ruth and her husband are parents of a Rebecca "Sullivan" Hawkins-487 given there is nothing sourcing the daughter's middle name as Sullivan - nor mention of a possible marriage to a Sullivan before or after marriage to Hawkins.
Rebecca Coale Hawkins (without a profile yet) and Rebecca Sullivan Hawkins-487 are very probably not the same person. It is most likely that Rebecca Coale (Hawkins without a profile yet) is married to Davy's father John B Crockett Crockett-318.
The Rebecca listed as a child here is probably NOT Rebecca Sullivan Hawkins Coale said to be married to John Wesley Crocket who is probably not Davy's father.
The profile for the Rebecca Hawkins The https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Hawkins-487 given as Davy's mother appears to be a combination of information about the Rebecca who is his mother, and whomever the woman was that was married to John Wesley Crockett https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Crockett-1098 who is from an entirely different Crockett family. It may be he was a contemporary of Davy's father. Hopefully I will learn more to post while researching this Rebecca Coale.
Cole-3347 and Cole-4012 appear to represent the same person because: dups with same parents and same spouse and same marriage date and same daughter Rebecca (who can be worked on later)
