Jane Cole was born Jan 4, 1696 at Eastham, Barnstable, Massachusetts to William and Hannah (Snow) Cole. [1][2] Jane was a descendant of Stephen Hopkins of the Mayflower.
She married first on Dec 7, 1721 at Eastham to Thomas Gross (b. 4 Feb 1677/8 Hingham MA and died between 8 Nov 1725 and 14 Mar 1727/28). He was son of Simon and Mary (Pond) Gross.[3]
Her second husband was Joseph Smalley (born about 1696; died 3 Jan 1773 Truro MA) son of Francis and Elizabeth (Hicks) Smalley. Jane and Joseph were married 16 May 1734 at Eastham. She was his third wife.[1]
Child by her first marriage to Thomas Gross, recorded in both Eastham and Truro:[4]
