When Ebenezer Cole was born on August 5, 1671, in Swansea, Massachusetts, his father, Hugh, was 43 and his mother, Mary, was 35. He married Mehitable Luther on November 27, 1697, in his hometown. They had nine children in 17 years.
Mehitable died in November of 1764. On 17 April 1765, the land Mehitable had received through her right of dower was distributed among her heirs,[1][2] namely:
Mary Salisbury
the heirs of Samuel Cole, deceased, eldest son to Ebenezer Cole
Martha Mason, wife of Oliver Mason
the heirs of Edward Cole, deceased
Ebenezer Cole Esqr.
Benjamin Cole Esqr.
Ebenezer's death was noted in the Ilston Book, the registry of the Baptist Church of Swansea, which states he departed this life on 4 September 1719.[3]
