Florentine Cole was born to Stephen Cole and Nancy Mitchell Simmons in Calcasieu, Louisiana in the summer of 1847.[1]
When he was 18 years old he enlisted in the 1st Battalion of the Cavalry Scouts of the United States, a volunteer unit from Calcasieu Parish.[2]
Florentine Cole died on March 12, 1912 [3]
and is buried at Smyrna Cole Cemetery, Beauregard Parish, Louisiana.[4]
