Biography

Margarietje, daughter of David Cole and Leonora Westfael, was baptized 21 June 1747 in the Reformed Dutch Church at Machackemeck, New York. Witnesses were Cornelis and Lisabeth Westfael.[1] She was their second daughter to be named Margrietje; another girl of that name had been baptized in 1742 and probably died sometime after 20 January 1745 (when a sister was baptized with the name Sara) and before this girl's baptism.

She passed away in 1802. [2]

Cole-6472 and Cole-3335 appear to represent the same person because: Same parents, same birth info (after I corrected apparent typo in the year), same spouse. Same person.

Obviously the baptism and marriage dates are problematic. Solution?

This is another of the invalid baptisms of 1742 repeated in 1747. The correct baptism date is Jan 17, 1742 which makes her a more reasonable age for marriage in 1759.
