Biography

William Cole was a son of William Cole and Elizabeth Deards. He is said to have died without children. [1]

William was baptised at St Mary Magdalen Milk Street, London, on 9 December 1621. [2]

Research Note:

This William Cole and his family appear to have no connection to the Cole family of Enniskillen, as erroneously supposed in many family trees.

This person had been listed as "William James Cole" and linked to William Cole of Enniskillen. However, this William Cole is not the son of William Cole of Enniskillen, nor is he the James Cole in Arden's Cole genealogy. [3]. [4]

the years given for Susan Bale 1574-1609 are a generation too early for William Cole who must have been born about 1600, given his father William was born 1583, died 1611

have removed Susan as spouse - she may have married another William or James Cole https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Bale-3

removed the portrait which was of Captain William Cole of Enniskillen

There is only a very distant family connection between this person and the Captain William Cole of Enniskillen whose portrait has been attached to this profile

see https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Cole-2313 for William Cole of Enniskillen

William Cole-963 and Elizabeth Deards-20 should be unlinked as parents of William James Cole-666, since they both appear to be born after his birth.

Sir William James Cole and his brother Humphrey Cole are apparently sons of Sir William James Cole Sr. (1546?-1623) of Tillingham, Essex, but I haven't yet found if he has a Wikitree profile.

The parents listed are clearly wrong. Will try to find the correct parents.
