Biography

Edith is first found in the 1900 Kentucky Census[1]in Meadows, Magoffin County, Kentucky. She is with her father Miles Cole, b. May 1855, m 24 yrs; her mother Kate, b. Jan 1861, the mother of 9/9 children. (Which the enumerator mis-understood because he entered 2/2, crossed that out and entered 9/9, but actually counted 10 children.

On 18 March 1905, Eddie (Eadie) Cole married Carew Caudill in Magoffin County, Kentucky.[2]at the home of Joseph Push, in the presence of Cleveland Salyer and Joseph Cole. Married by John Bailey, M.B.C.

In 1920 Edith and Carew Caudill were living in Breathitt County, Kentucky[3] With them were four children:

  1. Bertha, age 14
  2. Pearlia, age 11 (f)
  3. Homer, age 9
  4. Carrie, age 7 (f)

On 22 Jun 1940, their daughter Josephine, age 16, married Quinton Banks, 22, at Holonville, Wolfe County, Kentucky.[4]Quinton was the son of Finley Banks and Sarah (Sallie) Little Banks.

In March of 1942 Eddie and Carew are named in the marriage license/record of their son Luther Caudill who married Olidene Arnett in Wood County, Ohio.[5] Their son Luther was born in Breathitt County, Ky in 1921.[6]
