Cole-1613 and Cole-7883 do not represent the same person because: Different parents. "Part of the confusion is that there was more than one Barnard/Barnet Cole at the time. I found another contemporary Barnard Cole in the NYC/Long Island area. That Barnard Cole was a loyalist during the Revolutionary War, but I often see that the two Barnard Coles (and their trees) are conflated at times and in a number of trees. ... The best info is that Barnard Cole 7883 had a son, Barnard Barnet, who joined the Mormons and went west. Therefore, Barnard Barnet Jr’s sealed records are in Salt Lake City, UT. Those explicitly indicate that he was born in March 1796 to “Barnett” Cole and Susannah Walkup. He was born in the Great North Woods, in a place that is now Vermont. That general area crosses 4 states along the border with Canada .... At any rate, there is no evidence that Barnard 7883 married in Connecticut in 1796. This may be the Long Island Barnard Cole (or a member of his family), especially since CT is right across the Long Island Sound, and people went back and forth between Long Island and CT frequently." - Deb Rickert
