Notes

Of Notable interest with this profile is the marriage to Keziah Cole and then the marriage of his brother Joseph Cole Jr to Remember Cole and of another brother Zacheus Cole to the third daughter of Isreal Cole Mary Cole. These unlikely unions linked two ancient distinct lines of 'Coles' together.[1]

I looked up categories of notables and his descent doesn't seem to qualify him as notable. He did serve as US Postmaster (Two Mile Branch, Virginia) from Jan 1850 to Sep 1866. (US, Appointments of US Postmasters 1832-1971). That may qualify him.

I don't know. His marriage to Keziah Cole and the marriages of two of his brothers connects two branches of the Cole family. I found this interesting as both Cole lines were connected to Stephen Hopkins, one descending through his daughter Constance and the other through his son Giles. I suppose these connections to a Mayflower family could be notable but I couldn't say for sure.

Why does this profile have a notables sticker? I see no evidence of a WikiTree page or other indications of notability.

Cole-8130 and Cole-3089 appear to represent the same person because: Both seem to be the man married to Lydia Wheeler. He married Lydia after the death of his first wife Keziah (Cole) Cole (a distant cousin).

Cole-10557 and Cole-8130 appear to represent the same person because: Husband of Lydia Wheeler (his 2nd wife). She is not included in my Gedcom uploaded here, but I can add her.
