Biography

Will of John Coleman of Spotsylvania. Mar. 17, 1762; Aug. 1, 1763; mentions wife Nicie Coleman; "all my children that I have or shall have" (no names given); ex'ors wife, Richard Coleman, and Samuel Haws. Witnesses: Edward Cason, Benj. Hatter and Caleb Coleman.[1] [2]

A daughter of John and Nicie Coleman is supposed to have been the first wife of Peter Goodwin, 3rd of "Oakley." Her name is not known. [citation needed]

Research Notes

John Coleman Goodwin, s/o Peter & Sarah (Coleman) Goodwin, m. Nancy Graves. Sarah Coleman was the d/o John & Eunice "Nicie" (Hawes) Coleman.

On 13 Oct. 2020, another wife, Isabel (Minor) Coleman was added without any sources, and a second named Spencer Spencer Coleman), was added to this profile, also without any sources to corroborate the adding of these two people. Without sources, they were detached Jan 2023 Dreyer-373 17:52, 28 January 2024 (UTC) [3]

I believe that first wife should be removed. Not sure where she came from, and there are no sources to place her there.
Coleman-1493 and Coleman-2039 appear to represent the same person because: These are the same person
