Hugh D Coleman was enumerated as son of the head of household in Bethel, Palouse, and Turnbow Precincts, Whitman County, Washington for the June 20, United States Census, 1900. He was noted as at school, born June 1886 in Washington and single as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Hardy T Coleman, wife Georgia A Coleman, daughter Josie Coleman, daughter Lucile Coleman, daughter Ester Coleman and daughter Moselle Coleman.[1]

Hugh D Coleman was enumerated as head of the household at 407 Spring Street, Pullman, Whitman County, Washington for the January 5, United States Census, 1920. He was noted as born 1887 in Washington and married. He was a renter and a student (college) as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Mary L Coleman, daughter Georgia A Coleman and son William H Coleman.[2]

Hugh Coleman was listed as the father of William Hardy Coleman who died January 31, 1920 in Pullman, Whitman County, Washington. The mother was listed as Mary Wiley.[3]

Hugh Coleman was enumerated as head of the household at 2523 Second Street, Baker City, Baker County, Oregon for the April 3, United States Census, 1930. He was noted as born 1887 in Washington and married. He was first married at the age of twenty-eight. He was an owner of a home worth $3000 and city superintendent (public schools) as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Mary L Coleman, daughter Georgia A Coleman, daughter Annabelle Coleman, daughter Joyce Coleman and son James Coleman.[4]

On April 1, 1935, Hugh D Coleman lived in Baker City, Baker County, Oregon.[5]

Hugh D Coleman was enumerated as head of the household at Election Precinct 4 Palouse, Whitman County, Washington for the April 10, United States Census, 1940. He was noted as born 1887 in Washington and married. He rented a home and was a farmer as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Mary Coleman, daughter Annabelle Coleman, daughter Joyce Coleman and son James Coleman.[5]
