Biography

Robert Coleman was christened 1 February 1701/2 in the Episcopal Church, Abingdon Parish, Gloucester County, Virginia. He is the son of Thomas Coleman and Rebecca Claiborne.[1]

He married Sarah/Sara Saunders on 24 Nov 1740 at Orange County, Virginia.

The town of Fairfax (Culpeper) was founded on fifty acres of his land in 1759.

In his will he left legacies to his daughters, Ann Clayton, Sarah Slaughter, Lucy Strother, Frances Crutcher and Susanna Yancey.
