Biography

Susannah Coleman was born circa 1746 in Goochland County, Virginia Colony. She was the daughter of Richard Coleman and Johannah Clarke.[1]

Around 1765, Susannah married Richard Clayton with whom she had 4 children:

  1. Nancy
  2. Rebecca
  3. Elizabeth
  4. Daniel “One Hand”

Susannah became a young widow when Richard died in 1777.[2]

She married her second husband John Fuller on December 09, 1778 in Caswell County.[3]

With John, she had three more children:

  1. Richard Clayton “Clayton”
  2. Martha “Patsey”
  3. John

By 1803, Susannah was widowed for a second time.[4]

She died around 1811 in Person County, North Carolina, United States of America[5]

Research Notes

Children by second husband, John Salling Fuller, jointly sold property in 1811 - probable indication that Susannah had recently died:

  • Clayton Fuller, William Moore & John Fuller, all of Persons Co., to Alfred Jones of the same, for 100 lbs., 207 A on Stories Cr adj William Hamlin, William Fuller, Sampson Glen, James Cochran, Dickens, Van Hook, Paul Walters. 14 Nov 1811. Wit: Ira Lea, N. Thompson.
