OBITUARY

MRS. KATHLEEN SHOESMITH.

The death occurred in a Taree private hospital on Thursday morning of Mrs. Kathleen Myra Shoesmith, a well known resident of Manning St., Taree. She had not enjoyed good health for some time, and was admitted to hospital ten days ago. The late Mrs. Shoesmith, who was 63 years of age, was a daughter of the late Capt. and Mrs. Robert Collins, of Mitchell's Island, where she was born. She had resided on the Manning all her life.

Following her marriage to Mr. Geo. Thomas Shoesmith, who predeceased his wife in 1930, Mrs. Shoesmith lived at Oxley Island for about eight years, and she had been residing at Taree for the past 17 years. During her residence at Oxley Island she was keenly interested in the local activities of the district. Deceased is survived by the following sons and daughters: Lynton (Sydney), Myra (Mrs. A. Poole, Glebe Point), Lloyd (Taree), Ross (Goulburn), Dora (Mrs. R. A. Stubbs. Taree), and Jack (Sydney). Another son, Rex, is deceased.

Deceased is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Messrs. Jack and Robert Collins (Taree), Mrs. A. E. Stitt (Taree), Mrs. G. Newton (Brisbane), Mrs. W. Smythe (Earlwood). One brother, Stan, is deceased.

The funeral took place yesterday (Friday) afternoon, leaving Howard's private parlours for the Scott's Creek cemetery, where Rev. Walter Latham officiated. Funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. W. T. Howard.
